Miracles happen large and small all the time.  We just don’t talk about it.
The TV news doesn't seem to like reporting miracles. Maybe, we just aren’t focused on miracles.  But, I think they happen all the time.  Let me tell you about one that happened to me a few years ago.  One summer evening, I decided to barbecue.  I lit the charcoals and once they were all burning I put the lid on the grill.  A few minutes later (not thinking) I decided to open the metal vent on the top of the grill.  Too late, I realized that it was a stupid move.  My fingers were burning like crazy.  I went inside and got some ice which I held with my burned fingers until the ice melted.  Then, the burning would come back full force like I had just burned myself a minute ago.  I got more ice and when that melted, the pain was exactly the same.   At that moment, I decided to give my pain my undivided attention.  I imagined I was sitting inside my fingers where it hurt the most.  With all my attention focused there ,I had no opinion about what I was aware of, only that I was there for the duration with all my focus and attention.  I had heard some where that pain is the body’s way of getting your attention and I was going to PAY attention and see what happened. As I sat there with my eyes closed focused in on that pain, I noticed stinging pain, red hot colors, a windy sound and even a bit of moaning.  As I sat there, I noticed that the color went from flaming red to orange, to yellow and eventually blue.  The pain went from stinging to heat to warm to cool.  The sound went to calm quiet and all this happened in less than 10 minutes.  I have been able to share this experience with other people in immediate pain and it has had similar effects.  Another amazing thing about this is that I never got so much as a blister or red mark from the burn.  I share this with you because I believe it is possible for anyone to have the same experience that I had with pain.  We are all capable of miracles.  Try it the next time you bang your toe or on a chronic pain you are experiencing.   Miracles are happening all around us.  We just don’t talk about it.  If you have a miracle you would like to share with me, please do.  I would love to hear about it.

If you knew you could change it quickly and easily would you be ready for that kind of change?

Every week I lead a group of people who practice Neuro-Linguistic Programming techniques.  Last week we were using Jamie Smart’s Salad Cards.  It’s a card game of crazy eights that helps you practice language patterns.  It is a scream.  We were having so much fun laughing.  It was hard to tell we were learning at the same time.  I highly recommend using these cards to get really good at using these NLP patterns.  The deck of cards focused on helping people clear limiting beliefs that keep them stuck.  So we each had come up with a limiting belief to use during the game.  My limiting belief was that, I feel that taking time off is a waste of time.   I was so sick of that limiting belief by the end of the night that I told everyone that I planned to clear that belief this week.  Right after I said that two people in the group said “let me know if it works.”   At that moment I realized that I have been using many NLP techniques to clear my limiting for quite a while now.   It’s never a question of if it well work but whether or not I am ready to let that limiting belief go.  There are many really good NLP techniques for letting go of your limiting beliefs but I will give you a simple one to practice here.

It’s called the Dickens Technique.
1.        Identify you limiting belief
2.       Get a clear sense and statement of your limiting belief.
3.       Imagine going out into the future stubbornly holding on to it.
Notice how your life is unfolding 6 months, 1 year, 3 years, 5 years out into the future.
4.       When you are clear about the negative experience this old belief has on your life, clear that false future.  Let it vanish into thin air.
5.       Now create a real future that is completely free of that old limiting belief.  Notice how you are as you imagine yourself 6 months, 1 year, 3 years, 5 years into the future.  Notice what you are doing, saying, and experiencing now.
6.       In this new future become aware of what you believe now.
7.       Bring that new empowering belief back and anchor it in using voice, physical movements and images.  Notice your emotions now that you have this new belief.
This always gives me a sense of freedom.  And I always feel good.  Try this on for yourself and let me know your results.
