I coach my clients on how to get these “moods” under control and the absolute best way to do that is to move your body, change your posture and change your thoughts. One of the easiest ways to change your mood is to walk in nature. Walking in the fresh air is mind clearing. There is something about nature that gives us some kind of unseen support to lift our mood and change our state of mind.

As I am walking I pay more attention to what is happening now and less attention to any concerns I might be carrying around in my mind. I practice this nearly every day and it never fails to help me make more inspired decisions from moment to moment all day long. The buzzword these days is “mindset”. And even if you understand what it is, it is nearly impossible to change your mindset without help. Preferably someone who has an unbiased view of what you are saying and what you are believing.

When my clients tell me what they believe is holding them back, I help them see what they can do to break free. Sometimes it is about what they think they should be doing. I teach my clients to create strong boundaries by being very clear with their friends and family about the time they need to spend on their business. I tell them they need to ask for support to hold those boundaries as strong as possible. Then when they spend time with their family and friends, I tell them to spend 100% of their time focused on being with them. Because It's the quality of time and not the quantity of time you spend with them that really matters.

A dear friend of mine was battling with cancer for a long time. Through all the treatments she created a specific practice of smiling. First, she asked her doctors not to tell her any negative possibilities or outcomes. Then when ever she was receiving a treatment she would close her eyes and get an image in her mind of what she wanted to have happen. Then she would physically smile. She said that even if she didn’t feel particularly happy she would still smile and her mood would get better and better as she continued to smile. Her treatment went so well that her doctors asked her to come back and teach her “smiling technique” to the other patients. She says it works for all kinds of things in her life. She loves to say to me “if you can see it you can have it, just smile”. My friend has been cancer free for the past three years now.
